Hawkers – the proud bastions of our street food culture. Fine dining chefs – the innovators who bring cutting edge gastronomic delights to our plates. Since time immemorial, we’ve always looked to foreign critics to validate our street food – Gordon Ramsay, Anthony Bourdain, Andrew Zimmern… a whole host of Travel Channel/Food Network personalities have descended upon our shores to eat and judge the very best our hawkers have to offer.
WHAT IF WE TURNED THE TABLES?
…and have the humble hawker tell us what they think about Western-style fine dining. Old school taste-buds try out new school techniques.
A JUNK EXPERIMENT
We brought 3 of Singapore’s finest hawkers to Tippling Club – one of Asia’s best restaurants – for a taste of acclaimed chef Ryan Clift’s epicurean creations.
Finally, street food reviews fine food.
